Audience Systems have stepped up to help the BBC’s DIYSOS programme complete a massive makeover challenge in aid of Children in Need.

A one-off show, to be screened as part of BBC Children in Need week in November, sees the DIYSOS team overhaul the Norris Green Youth Centre in Liverpool – including a new area of tiered seating.

The centre has already changed the lives of many children and young people, steering them away from crime in an area blighted by unemployment and gang violence. Over 50 young people attend the centre daily, gaining positive experiences, and developing the skills and confidence they need to succeed in education, employment and the community. Built 52 years ago, the centre was in desperate need of an overhaul to allow it to reach out to more youngsters and expand its curriculum.
Audience Systems supplied and fitted Espace 628 seats in the main hall at the centre, upholstering the chairs in a vibrant mosaic of colours. 

Audience Systems’ Sales Manager Colin Traynor attended the installation and the final reveal along with hardworking installers Martin Brookes and Piotr Jelonek. Colin commented, “We couldn’t believe how busy it was on site but everyone involved was so committed. It was such a pleasure to be involved.”

We can’t say too much about the results, or show any photographs until the programme airs in November. Suffice to say however that revealing the finished centre to the staff and children really was emotional.
