Audience Systems’ MD Mark Cowley questioned Business Secretary Vince Cable at the 2011 Institute of Directors annual dinner, which Audience Systems attended along with a small group of clients and partners.
Mark asked Mr Cable what the government intended to do to help British manufacturing businesses such as Audience Systems protect themselves from foreign imports. The Minister’s answer: that manufacturers who import components cannot really complain about foreign competition. A predictably evasive answer perhaps!
Political matters aside, the event was well-run and thoroughly enjoyable. John Sergeant’s speech was eloquent and entertaining, and Eden Project Founder Tim Smit was amusingly controversial. Audience Systems would like to thank everyone who joined us and made the evening a success.
