We were all delighted to find out more about Fairfield Farm College – a local charity which Audience Systems have been raising money for. Jemma Gunning and Katie Osborne from Audience Systems visited to present a cheque for £400 and were given a tour.
The college is based in Dilton Marsh, a couple of miles from Audience Systems’ headquarters in Westbury, UK. It offers day and residential courses to young people with learning difficulties, with the aim of developing practical life skills. These include caring for the farm animals, learning about motor vehicles in the garage, preparing lunches in the kitchen, and working on the computers.
On site are a newly built farm shop and café which are open to the public, and staffed by students. Students also make products to be sold in the shop such as bird feeders.
Audience Systems’ donation was raised by the staff through fundraising activities including a tasty cake stand, raffle, quiz and “guess the cakes” scratchcards, together with a contribution from the company. The money raised will buy the students a TV for the recently extended common room area.
We wish the dedicated team at the college the very best and hope the students enjoy the TV!
